Our History
New Alternatives was founded as a Non Profit California Corporation in 1978, dedicated to healing childhood abuse and providing services to children, youth and families. New Alternatives utilizes trauma informed and evidence based programs and interventions to support, stabilize and reduce the effects of trauma in the lives of families. We have grown to become one of the largest providers of child welfare and behavioral services programs dedicated to improving the lives of children and families.

New Alternatives is dedicated to creating safe, comfortable, healing, trusting, successful, and fun environments guided by strength-based, trauma-informed practices. We are dedicated to providing individualized plans that are culturally focused, inclusive of family, and address health and wellness, education, community, and independent living skills in an environment free from judgment.
